An: Sweet bean is a drama based on a novel, the movie is directed by Naomi Kawase. The movie tell the story of Sentarou, the manager of a little Dorayaki (a dessert made with 2 little pancake and red bean paste in the middle) bakery. One day a old lady who is about 76 years old answer the part time help wanted sign outside the bakery. Her dream was to work in a bakery like that. Sentarou of course think that the lady is too old for that kind of work, that it would be too hard for her. One day to convince him to hire her she brings him a bowl of her own red bean paste. Her paste recipe bring a lot of popularity to the store!
The movie is really cute and touching! It’s a nice story who have good and sad moment. The story of the characters is well developed all through the movie. You can easily fall in love with the character! I really, really like the little old lady Tokue, she is soooo cute!! The thing I like about japanese movie in general is that they’re not too long so you don’t get bored at one point!
